Checklist of Documents You’ll Need
When you meet with one of our estate planning attorneys, we’ll guide you through what documentation you’ll need for setting up a last will and testament, trusts, power of attorney documents, and a living will. However, if you want to get a head start, start compiling the following documents, as they will speed the process along:
- Titles, such as to real estate property, motor vehicles, etc.
- Loans and mortgages
- Financial information, like savings accounts, retirement funds, investments, stocks and bonds, etc.
- Credit cards
- Insurance policies
- A list of personal property you’d like to include in your plan, such as jewelry, antiques, heirlooms, etc.
- Funeral arrangements, if already planned or desired
