Checklist of Documents You’ll Need

When you meet with one of our estate planning attorneys, we’ll guide you through what documentation you’ll need for setting up a last will and testament, trusts, power of attorney documents, and a living will. However, if you want to get a head start, start compiling the following documents, as they will speed the process along:

  • Titles, such as to real estate property, motor vehicles, etc.
  • Deeds
  • Loans and mortgages
  • Financial information, like savings accounts, retirement funds, investments, stocks and bonds, etc.
  • Pensions
  • Credit cards
  • Insurance policies
  • A list of personal property you’d like to include in your plan, such as jewelry, antiques, heirlooms, etc.
  • Funeral arrangements, if already planned or desired
